For me, the crystallization of this perilous past year is the juxtaposition of Pete Hegseth literally powdering his nose (as reported by The New York Times), before meeting with Ukrainian leadership in Europe earlier this year - after taking it upon himself to slow Pentagon military aid and intelligence sharing to the embattled and brave war-torn nation.
There is very little to smile or laugh about right now, but Temu Teddy Roosevelt and the Botox and bonhomie flowed, did give me a true laugh out loud moment. You are just a brilliant and inspirational writer - thank you for sharing your talent!

What can I say? Everything you write is accurate as far as I can determine. My dad fought in WW II against the fascists and received serious, long-lasting injuries there. Is he and all who risked their very lives to save this nation tarred with the slur of being called "antifa," this mysterious "terrorist" group among us? Are the graves at Arlington lined with "antifa" members? The tv show "Stranger Things" that highlights nightmares in the "upside down" could not compete with what we are being drenched with every day. The US is indeed upside down: good is bad, truth is fiction, patriotism is violence, only one elderly addled man can fix it....Happy New Year indeed.
