Thank you Noel. Your writings inspire me. I am one of those people that unplugged from the world after the election because I want to preserve my sanity and be at peace. As the inauguration looms, my energy is renewed and I want to peacefully fight against this nightmare regime.
“We the People” was always just a vision. Pilgrims came to avoid religious persecution, but they brutally ostracized those who did not believe the way they did. Jamestown founders came for trade, but shackled millions in slavery to achieve blood soaked fortunes. For the most part we learn from our immediate communities and we act on those teachings our entire lives, passing those beliefs down for generations. Unless we reach out to others with different points of view will we be able to stand up for our own. We have all been made aware of the beliefs of Trump, his cronies, and Project 2025. Now is the time to stand up and fight for what we believe in, to take back the vision of we, and have faith that it is not lost. 99% of the time, differences don’t make rights or wrongs; they only make differences. Let’s set our vision on debate rather than raw argument because no one wins in an argument. Let’s individually stand strong in our beliefs because we come to the table knowing both sides. Thank you, Noel, for giving us the facts and research on which to debate our truths. Let’s join individually with others of like minds so we always have the means to debate the truth rather than argue it. “We” can become a vision again. I’m ready to help make it happen.
According to authors like Chris Hedges, when emires decay, dangerous buffoons rise to the top. Empire comes home, in our global war machine.. unsustainable. There were signs of decay in US for a long time, before trump. Ex. Drug use and crime... We chose not to invest properly in our society., all factions. A reckoning would have happened anyway. Trumpism will make us look at ourselves..perhaps in end it will be for the better to battle and overcome our inner demons.. 50 years , end of April, since fall of Saigon.. maybe that was the beginning of decay point of USA.
I know MAGA isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but why don't they ever wonder who's benefiting from this so-called climate change "hoax"? EV car manufacturers? Nope--look at the sales charts. Solar panel companies? I don't see any "solar billionaires." Utilities? They are a regulated monopoly--they benefit no matter what. The media? They cover both sides, so it's a wash. Congress? Hardly--they're profiting from the companies fighting climate change regulations!
Maybe MAGA thinks hoaxes are started for no reason at all? But that's not true--these days everybody does things to make money. So who are these hoaxing oligarchs? Let's have some names!
I am so sad. In a few weeks, I will be 68. I hate to say for most of my life I took our Democracy for granted, but I did. My husband (70) and I do what we can to promote our liberal beliefs, both by voting and actively working for candidates. But damn, we feel defeated. Thank you for all you do. Stay safe.
Along with Musk, Zuck and Bezos ~ add in a dash of Premier Danielle Smith, right here in Alberta, to throw chum into the waters. What an embarrassment. The only premier that refused to stand united alongside every other leader in this country 🇨🇦
