Mainstream media hasn’t done much to protect us from creeping authoritarianism or to illuminate the darker corners of Trump’s criminal history of sexual assault, drug abuse, human trafficking through Trump Model Management and mob ties but damn if they haven’t succeeded at injecting the idea that ‘Biden is too old’ into the mainstream Democratic narrative.

Yesterday I overheard a phone conversation, a woman in my office was upset because her sister was told she needed to have vaxes in order to begin her nursing school curriculum and the family was angry, the student was going to defer a year until Trump was back in office. Her boyfriend is a police officer and also refuses vaccines, hoards(or collects) guns and big Trump supporter. My old
Office was all Trump too. I work with higher income, educated people in the finance industry. The Baptist church in the south also has full control over its parishioners - my old office participated in book bans with the church, just last year.
We are here. I moved up north to get away from a red state insanity but Trump’s (and Elon’s) cult are everywhere.I am afraid.

Too bad the journalists whose acrual job it is to inform us of the truth don't do as good a job as you. Please don't stop. If the journalists won't do it then voices like yours are invaluable.

I keep wondering about a December 2016 transition meeting in NYC where he met with heads of news outlets and news anchors. If I remember correctly, it's standard to have that transition meeting with the media, but his was unusual both because of the number of anchors invited and because it was completely behind closed doors. No one was allowed to discuss what was said.
Not that anything that was said excuses the way media is failing us, but I'm really curious about that meeting. Seven years is a long time for nothing to have leaked about it.
