Beautiful skewering of Murdoch. The Brits knew how dangerous he was, but us? Duhr.

I also hope you are enjoying the same of Elon in the weekly comic strip "The Phantom." It's hilarious!

After the war, the Allies said the hardest job they had was not reconstruction but denazification. It was literally in everything. That took over a year; & as we can see now, this was pretty speedy.

I've been saying for years that this is the last gasp of a dying patriarchy, & it won't be pretty. But the damn thing just refuses to die, & it keeps getting uglier!

Thank you, Noel. Thank you. I would add that they have been successful in eliminating or transforming our collective memory, or I should say 'their' collective memories. Those that filled in the circle for Trump and side kick bootlicker. Think of all they've forgotten, ignored, dismissed, or in their delusional minds thought "no, that didn't happen, MSN, CNN, the deep state, they are all lying to us."

They forgot about all the botched attempts in the pandemic in which it's estimated that 1/2 of the million who died might still be alive today. They say "oh, Trump was more interested in saving the economy, to open things up and let kids go back to school, he did the right thing, and besides, those masks didn't do any good." We were forced to watch the insurrection, the illegal documents, the rape conviction, 90 indictments. Were they not paying attention? Did they conveniently forget? Or do they just rationalize it and say "he was fighting for democracy and fair and legal elections" and "he took the documents because he's the best person to deal with all those secret problems" or "he really didn't rape that woman, she was just doing it for attention and money." You are right Noel, all this muddled thinking comes from Fox and Murdoch, especially the bullshit about the economy, the "biggest issue of them all" or so they wanted the voting public to think that instead of the fact that abortion rights have been pithed. And WE are getting scolded for calling them dumb or deplorable. Or, some so called journalists are saying "don't blame Fox, it's the Democrats fault for not reaching the working public." What bullshit. I'm with you Noel, keep writing.

I'd like to add spectator sports as one of the underlying troubles in our nation. My first real problem is the corporate angle. They make it happen. Beer, sugar drinks predominantly. Fans are ready for friendly, not friendly battle of turfs. Apart from that long standing grievance Noel, the worst thing I'm seeing right now is the further separating of men from women. Women form men. Divide and conquer is true. I understand there are many paths to get us forward in ways that serve us and leave the meanness behind. Further about sports for me, is the same illusion of participation as is social media. It keeps us as spectators rather than doers. I believe what made people more whole and healthy in the past were things to participate in or "do". Still available. Join a class for dance or paining or a gardening club, pickle ball. Build something in the garage. Be a friendly face in a crowd. Look for friendly faces. Thank you. Love you Noel.💙

Noel, thanks, insightful as always. I think the dumbing down of America actually started in 1968. The high school students graduating that year were perhaps the best educated generation in history and the Civil Rights and Anti-War movements were in full swing, with the Women's and Environmental movements in their infancy. I believe it's one reason they still want to get rid of public education.

The powers-that-be realized that an adjustment had to be made. And so it began.

They put Reagan in the White House and he got rid of the Fairness Doctrine governing the use of public airwaves and this made possible the creation of Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. The consolidation of media further tightened the grip on the flow of information everywhere. Our country has moved so far right thanks to the propaganda.

Trump, Musk, RFK Jr. Gaetz and the rest, ALL frauds propped up by the billionaires.

The consolidation of wealth is the ongoing threat to us and to the international order and Earth itself.

Thanks again, Noel.

Please keep writing. I long to see an America that removes blinders, fights back on hate, recognizes wrong doing and supports the underserved. Two weeks ago I told my in/laws who both work from home for the FAA to get ready. Today she called with so much concern that Vivek is going to make her go back to the office. “He’s gonna eliminate our jobs”. It was my first chance to tell her I told you so I hope I never have to say that to anyone else. He inherits again another robust economy to run in the ground. I will continue the fight for our country.
