Just listened to a podcast with Jen Psaki where she and Tim discuss all of the ways in which the party failed to attend to the 'real' needs of the electorate. Poor communication, needing to simplify and messages and use social media more, etc. What they do not mention is the rampant misogony which precludes the election of a woman for the most powerful political office in our country. Not even a nod to the swamp of resistance that even many women feel when faced with voting for a woman. Had a friend say, "Well, of course I would vote for a woman. Just not that woman." She said the same thing about HRC. She is a Dem.
I wake up every morning not really thinking about Trump, but within moments I despair about what he can do and actually wish that he will die. Unfortunately that is not the solution. He is just a useful idiot for the real powers that be. I still want him gone because I can’t stand his whining. Why are him and his followers so angry when they won?
This totally sums up exactly how I feel. I want to fight back but I also want to just crawl under the covers and hide. I'm in my 70s, I hope I'm alive in four years to vote against him. I have no pity for his supporters.
The women who voted for him deserve nothing but scorn and derision. They fall into two categories, in his mind. "Worthy of rape" and "Too ugly to molest." Nice job ladies, you're Trump's dream come true.
Tell me again that we can survive this, I feel defeated.
